Yes, it does. Is it a requirement for an appointment? No. Why? There are many applicants from coast to coast who don't get the opportunity to attend SLE or have a FFR in there area. If you do have a FFR in your area, I would encourage you to reach out and make contact. Establish ties, they can be very beneficial to monitor your progress and give you guidance. Also, do try and make contact with your RC. You probably will not get the same personalized attention as your FFR but at least they will know your name. Please, continue to visit SAF and ask questions.
