Hello everyone,

just wondering on everyone else's experiences with field training selection (question is obviously towards POC if any of them navigate through this forum)? I've heard of 200 more slots being added to Maxwell, AFB. How are my chances looking based on my criteria?

Non-Tech Business Degree
GPA: 3.8
PFA: 99.3
On enlisted-commissioning scholarship (Prior E)

And hopefully a decent commanders ranking.

Thank you for all that reply

Overall you look strong, but you are missing @50% of the WCS for selection.

What is your SAT/AFOQT?

I won't swear by it, but I recall it being worth 15% of the WCS.

What did your CC tell you at the end of last semester when you had your review? Usually they will rank you out, top 10%, 20%, etc. That is really where the rec comes in from, aka rack and stack.

I would think being prior E, with the stats you stated, you are in, as long as you didn't tank the other 2. I.E. have a 900 SAT and top 50% rank.

For all SFT cadets, remember, receiving the slot, is just step 1. You will get an SFT score upon completion and that will be part of your score for OML when it comes to AFSC boards.

I would believe as prior enlisted, SFT will be a cake walk for you.

pretty sure as a prior-e your guaranteed a EA. I know its in the AFI somewhere.... I will look it up.

That's not true, I knew a couple cadets last year who were prior E that didn't get it. Unless it's changed.

I took the AFOQT and did descent. I didn't set the world on fire because I took it after being out of school for a couple years but none the less I passed and got an equivalent to about a 1100 on the old SAT. And I was ranked in the top 10 in my flight so hopefully I get lucky!

Had to laugh for a second, because you said top 10. I am hoping you meant %, and not 10 as in the number, because top 10 and if you only have 12 in the det, is not the same as top 10%!

I think you will do fine. I am not sure of your career field, if you want to go rated, but if so, start studying for the TBAS now. That will matter a lot next yr.
