I had just submitted the form about the "safety briefing" when my mother saw my application page and corrected me: my middle name is not on my birth certificate. I updated it and continued filling out forms. This might just be me being over-cautious, but will this cause some sort of "mix-up"? I received and accepted the SS offer when my middle name was put on the site, so should I be concerned that I changed this info after sending in one of the forms? (Now the middle name field is blank.)

For summer seminar, I'm fairly sure it will not be an issue. For the real application, I would double check with admissions to be sure there is no problem. since the box is blank, I think your in the clear. congrats on summer seminar! Maybe I'll see you there! :)

I hope so, and thanks! What session are you going to? Me --> B. What part of Cali are u from? I'm from the Bay Area :thumb:

Just so you know; if your middle name isn't on your birth certificate,,,,,, then you DON'T HAVE A MIDDLE NAME. You can call it a "Nick-Name" if you want, but "LEGALLY" your name is what's on your birth certificate. And unless your state doesn't check, I assume they requested to see your birth certificate when you applied for your driver's license.

Now; for summer seminar, don't worry about it. it's not a big deal. But you need to choose something right now, before starting the application process. Either go down to your county and have a correction done and a new birth certificate issued; or accept the fact that you don't have a middle name. Either way is fine; you just don't want to mix the two on a continual basis.
