    Hi,
I'm sure this question is asked every year, but I could not find the answer to it using the search function on this webpage.

My final grades for the semester will be a unweighted 3.3/ weighted 4.16. or
    AP English - B
    AP Government- A+
    AP statistics C+
    IB biology HL2- B+
    Lab Assistant- A+
    IB Music Theory HL2- A+

Will these grades revoke my admission? I am a little worried as I have not dipped below a 3.6/3.8 in a very long time.. even though this semester has been very very busy with 5 AP/IB classes.

Also, my grade report will not be available until the 13th of June..while the suspense date for the academy is the 11th. advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't know about the grades, but I'd try to contact your school to see if they can expedite the process (given your "urgent" circumstance). If not possible, I'd CALL your region's candidate technician explaining your situation, and see what they respond.

Your grades SHOULD be fine. I got a "C" in AP Calc senior year and I'm at USMA. It's person dependent. And I'm sure if you ask politlely, your school will send the grades in earlier.

Where did you find the suspense date?

    Thanks,

High schools in our area don't finish up until closer to June 20th. USMA can't require final grades by the 11th - too many places don't have them yet.

In any case, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not so substantial a drop that they would either think you couldn't cut the academics or that you wouldn't make a good officer. Son's grades dropped a bit, plus he had two traffic infractions. They still took him.

Well, the problem with this year's class is that they have 30 cadets OVER the authorized limit (1,180 out of 1,150 allowed)*. They are expecting to have some attrition between now and R-DAY, therefore people better think twice before doing "less than smart" things.

*Info from NE Region information e-mail.

Protocol: Inform Superiors Immediately of Problem

    Dear Stephanie:

There is little use worrying over your grades at this point, except to redouble your efforts for finals. Do what you can, but do NOT stress over it. You have plenty to do to prepare for Beast, so focus on that after finals.

Since it is impossible for you (and my son) to comply with the "suspense date" for providing final transcripts, immediately contact your admissions team as follows:

I suggest you FIRST contact your school (perhaps by email) to ask when the transcripts are normally available.

When you call your admissions team, advise them of the school's normal transcript release date.

THEN follow up with an email to the admissions team stating your school's normal transcript release date. Include in your email to the admissions team the email you received from your school stating the normal transcript release date.

THEN do everything possible to ensure your transcript will be sent out as soon as possible, maybe call in a favor to get it processed earlier (if possible).

    Best of luck in Beast.

An accepted candidate I worked with has a same issue. The answer from the admissions team was a letter signed by a school official stating why the transcript won't be ready/released by June 11th and expected released date.

I am told by a very good source in Admissions that the acceptance rate for candidates offered admission was higher than expected. As a result, the class is about 30 over the intended class size. Admissions is willing for all of these accepted candidates to enter - however, they are also on the lookout for people who fall below the standards late in the year. Some examples of conduct that can get your offer revolked:
-Bad last semester grades ( a C is probably OK but dropping from a 4.0 average to 3.0 might cause some concern)
-Any police activities (except for routine traffic offenses)
-Drunk Driving - go to your Plan B
-Injuries that would not allow the New Cadet to fully participate in New Cadet Training
-Other negative information from the school, community, or other reliable sources
In short, you are about 4-5 weeks from Beast Barracks. Prepare for Beast and leave the over-the-top celebrations, dumb-pranks, reckless behavior, etc to others
