First Care Package

LovetheNavy, do send a plastic container w/ your first care package for mouse-resistance @ Bancroft (though no evidence that anyone's been harmed by them -- OTOH, the mice only wish they could say that). Rumor has it that cadre do sometimes tease plebes re: postcard content, but no, they're not supposed to open anyone's letters. If it were me w/ "funny" cards from friends, I'd go w/ your husband's idea re: the envelopes. You don't know which brand of cadre your child will have.

My son's working 2nd half of plebe summer, and I bet he wouldn't give anyone a bad time for post cards, but I'm told some would.

We had friends and nieghbors write notes to son on postcards at his grad party too, but I plan on putting them in envelopes to send them-- just in case. (Also that way I can put a note in with them if I want)

Do send the plastic rubbermaid style container in the first care package. Yes, there are mice in Bancroft. I sent son a sticky trap thing a ma jig last fall. You will hear mids talk of sending mice to "jump school" (out the window), "dive school" (down the commode) and "nuke school" (yeah, the microwave!).......

Home made goodies are safe from mice....they disappear shortly after arrival!
