First F-35 "dropped" in UPT last night

Both of you are acting like Stooges.

We get it, Bullet. You're an F-35 shill. It puts bread on your table so you won't admit anything negative.

We get it, cga82. You're an F-35 critic. You fancy yourself a crusader for truth and justice in DOD acquisitions.

Seriously...WE GET IT.
Well then, my apologies. Like I said up front, I was hesitant to even join this discussion, afraid exactly what happened would happen. I thought most of my posts were pretty balanced with admitting the disappointment in the cost and delay of this program while countering some of the incorrect statements on it's capabilities. And I will fully admit that after a while, I simply preferred to provide flippant remarks in perhaps poor attempts at humor.

If I appeared immature, or a stooge, keeping the debate going, again my humble apologies.

But allow me one correction on your comment to me. As PIMA mentioned, In no way, shape, or form is my paycheck tied to the success of this program. Quite the opposite, the AF pages he for honest assessment of the program's ability to deliver the capabilities we asked it to have, and what capabilities we need it to have in the future. The three services involved are OUTSIDE of this program, as it is run by the Office of the SecDEF. And as PIMA has also stated, I moved upwards from that F-35 oversight position a while back. But to be honest, I will fully admit that I do have a place in my heart still for the program (which is only natural when you're life was spent explaining why it was necessary for as long as I did), and if that led to passion on my part defending it from mis-informed critics.... Well, once again I'll ask for forgiveness.

But as MANY have stated, this is beyond ridiculous, and I'll allow CGA the inevitable last word and move on from this thread....

Please add the 82 on that so people don't think you're talking about the school. ;)

I think we'd all like to see the personal "issues" dropped from any discussion here.

Fact, opinions, thoughts, ideas...all are good and help to stimulate excellent (for the most part) discussion and learned debates. When it devolves into personal commentary and borderline attacks, then it needs to stop.

Please do!

Hello Moderators- Is this really necessary. Every time I post something I can always expect something from LITS.

Hello flieger83 how many more times do I have to correct this guy with false biographies/questioning my authentic Pedigree or my Son's/baiting tactics/misinformation /personally attacking me for telling things with back up links/name calling--ya I've done the same only after he first make disparaging remarks about me ie Mr. Wilson -Erkel. This is evident in his postings after mine .

Because this guy has a bunch of post(s)-he is allowed to get away with things like the above. On this thread, I gave many Links about the F-35. I was berated here that all I did was provide links. I purposely said little so as to just let the Links do the talking. It was up to others to research it agree/disagree and or ignore it all together. So the Link attack on me became the mode of attack. LITS attacks personally and nothing ever happens-so I in return am required to counter-attack.

In the end, he gets another free ride until his personal attacks come forward in the next thread. I held back on things about him that should have been again shared that are facts and are embarrassing and personal.

Nothing personal about it. Is I see "CGA" I think "Coast Guard Academy." If someone is new to this world, there's no reason to assume "CGA" is actually "cga82."

Finally, cga82 has made constant mention of his current coworkers who have "gamed the system" for disability. His references have been Coast Guard-specific, so it only makes sense that he's referring to his role as a civilian in the Coast Guard. If this isn't true, and he works somewhere else, such as a contractor, then that's my fault. But let's not suggest that cga82 has not used his current (and past) experiences as a foundation for his comments. He can't relay on it on one sentence, and then take offense when someone else refers to it in the next sentence.

The only personal attacks I've seen on this thread are cga82 to other posters (not entirely directed at me).

In reality, on this thread I've kept out of it. First, because I don't really know about the F-35 program, and second because even if I did have a shred of knowledge about he F-35 program, there's nothing I can do to change the reality of what it is.

I COULD google information about it and repost it like I have SOME idea about it, but how much would that do? That's especially not useful when we've had people involved with the program actually post here, but we (not me) attack them because of information we've googled? Huh?

Now, cga82 can assume he's being personally insulted but at the end of the day, I've talked about the sourcing of information (googling it), about issues in the Coast Guard's programs (which I assumed, based on his past statements, that cga82 might have SOME insight on, but I must have been wrong), and about how this thread has come to an impasse.

None of that is directed at cga82, but seeing as how there are only a few other people posting here, his generally the one who keeps it going, even after he's said he's "done." Heck, even people who generally end up on opposite sides of issues (Pima and Scoutpilot) have essentially said this thread is done.

And on the flip side of this, there have been statements that cga82 has made that I agree with and have "liked."

Okay...I think we're done here. The OP was about the first SUPT student to track an F-35 on selection night. As was pointed out to me by a member, there was also discussion about the aircraft, it's current status, and there were items given to members to review and then form their own opinions about the aircraft.

However, I stand by my original comments; since the original post, this thread has devolved to where it's no longer of true value to the forum members.
