Did he accept appointment on portal first?BFE came today for DS in Michigan. It's sitting on the kitchen table waiting for son to get back from practice...
For USMA, principle nom plus fully qualified means admissions. The timeline for that, however, can vary.I'm a little curious; I learned last Friday that I received my MoC's principal nomination, and I learned last Wednesday that my file had been qualified. Does this mean that the academy must offer me an appointment? As well, since my file has been qualified, does this mean that admissions has gone over my file yet? My liaison told me my file was "Complete Pending Review" or something like that, and I was unsure as to what that entailed. Thank you!
You just eased a lot of pressure off of me! It's not that I'm impatient (though, admittedly, I can be ,) I was just worried about what that entailed - thank you for clarifying! I can wait peacefully now. (Or, as peacefully as finals week allows!)For USMA, principle nom plus fully qualified means admissions. The timeline for that, however, can vary.
I got nominated by my congressman on Friday. I nearly maxed out on CFA, easily passed the medical exam. Do you think at any point West Point will inform me if I'm fully qualified?I'm a little curious; I learned last Friday that I received my MoC's principal nomination, and I learned last Wednesday that my file had been qualified. I was informed I was qualified 4 days after I completed my CFA - however, that doesn't mean you will be informed at all. There is no standard as to who gets a qualified letter (assuming they are qualified,) or when.I got nominated by my congressman on Friday. I nearly maxed out on CFA, easily passed the medical exam. You have to be scholastically qualified, as well as be medically and physically qualified, to be fully qualified. If your SAT/ACT score is not above a certain threshold, you will be disqualified.I got nominated by my congressman on Friday. I nearly maxed out on CFA, easily passed the medical exam. Im absolutely scared that I hurt my file. When I applied I used the name I go by, however my legal name I found later is my last name switched with my middle name. Its caused some issues lately. They don't seem to happy about it. Did I just kill my chances?
Long story short, that caused problems for me intermittently over the years, as various records (school, health, driver's license, insurance, bank accounts, etc.) had one name, some the other. Security clearances, I had to list Short Form as an AKA in the application. Passport, same issue.
Son received his West Point appointment packet yesterday! He is now waiting to see if he receives an appointment to USAFA, which is his top choice as he wants to be an aviator. Nominated to 3 service academies by rep and to USAFA by senator.Any word when the first wave of big fat envelops will be sent out?
I'm sitting here agony that all these people got offered appointments.I won't give up though. For people that haven't gotten an appointment : hang in there!
Do what you can now to sort this out. Call, email, to get it cleared up and corrected. Your birth certificate is the authentic name. The one you have been using will be an "AKA."
Growing up, I thought my name was First Name, Full Middle Name, Last Name, what my parents always told me. I went by First Name, Short Form Middle Name, Last Name, as a family name. When doing my entrance paperwork for the Navy, I used Full Middle Name version for everything, as I had anywhere full name was asked for over the years. Then, I found my birth certificate was the Short Form Name, and my baptismal certificate was Full Middle Name. My mother was very upset, still insisting the Full Middle Name was correct. The hospital had messed it up all those years ago.

Be polite, apologetic and persistent in getting this corrected. It didn't hold me up, but it was an administrative pain.
