Fitness Problem

Up until earlier this week I've been looking forward to R-day with a mix of excitement and nervousness, and was fairly confident that I was prepared. Now however, I'm starting to panic a bit. My pull-ups are terrible! A bit of backstory.

I recieved an LoA early in the admissions process this year, which meant I still needed to take the CFA. Now I've always had trouble with pull-ups, despite being otherwise physically fit, so they were something I worked on. Still I ended up failing the CFA the first time around. I had only managed three pull-ups. So I scheduled another test and worked with my coach to improve. The second time I passed. Barely.

Well with this hurdle scaled, I completely forgot about pull-ups. I figured they weren't in the Physical Preparation pamphlet, so I put it in the same category as the B-ball toss and stopped working on pull-ups. With R-day around the corner though, I redid everything on the test to see how my fitness preperation had come along. I was happy at my improvement for the most part, but horrified at how difficult pull-ups were again. I barely managed two.

I know this is a problem. My question is, how severe of a problem is it?

Its too late now since R Day in Monday.

There are PT sessions where you will be expected to do Pullups. In my day, there was a warrior competition and how many pullups a squad could do was part of the scoring.

Pullups are a very important part of fitness so you should try to increase your pullps when you get to the academic year. They will help you on the shelf for the Indoor Obstacle Course Test, at Ranger school, etc.

Good luck on Monday.
