Flight costs and not living at home anymore

We have done it at every airport we've tried, and usually, the airline personnel are very pleased to accommodate us. One caveat: if you go at the absolute busiest time, well, they may not be as danged happy to help, ya know?

Of course, the Steeler Nation is indeed a most special place, truly appreciative of the US armed services, so it's just one reason y'all should MOVE here. :)
We tried today to go into security line in DCA with our cadet (DC Reagan) and were turned back. No TSA precheck line for him either, had to wait long line, but this might be Frontier airline issue, still some airports allow people in uniform to do TSA pre even if their ticket does not mark so.

Binky, you will suddenly find this "magic pay" in your account at TG, Christmas, and Spring Break. Really, it's truly magic. So, yes, save your money, but there is a special little extra in some of those deposits.

vshun, did you have the security pass from Frontier?
I do not think Frontier gives any. Southwest did in the past. But DS did not want to wake up early for SW flight at 8.30 am yesterday so had to endure Frontier experience/ no TSA precheck/pass/snacks/middle seat assignment. To be honest Frontier was cheaper enough than Southwest from DC to Denver so these are just minor gripes.

I don't know how Frontier identifies passengers, but on most airline websites there is a section to enter a "Known Traveler" ID number. My DS uses his mil id number and his boarding pass always is issued with a PreCheck identifier. That can save some butt on those travel days where the TSA line wraps out and around the building before entering the 'Disney Lanes'. :)

Just had a great experience with our Firstie DS, American and PIT (yes fencersmother, Steeler Nation!). She asked where my DS' final destination was, and confused, he answered Colorado Springs. I corrected him to Denver, the agent asked if he was an Academy student. She was a competitive swimmer and trained at USAFA many years ago and had fond memories of her time there. She asked us if we would like to escort DS to the gate!! We loved that extra time spent over breakfast and playing #saddoolie ;) I don't remember being turned down from a pass, but I understand it does happen.

Sisters are great for taking ds flannel shirts
That dont fit anymore as he gained 15 pounds all muscle
Some should plan on shopping for some clothing to enjoy on tgiving or xmas break
If they are thrifty as my ds is, they will have enough cash built up to buy their own civilian clothing (which can only be worn on breaks at home until recognition in march)
