My DS started at his four year university this past fall. He is a 3 year AD winner and he is finishing up his nursing prereqs. His GPA is good and the tough classes are out of the way. He will apply for nursing school next fall. He is hoping to be a flight nurse and is talking about that a lot lately. How does he get that? Is it a specialty school after they serve for some time in a hospital? Can he improve his chances of getting flight nurse by having a good order of merit standing?

I'm a 2nd year nursing student and have looked into flight nursing. The research I have done has said that most flight services are looking for atleast 2-4 years in critical care ie. ICU or ED. Some services required you to obtain a paramedic license. If you google flight nurse requirements there is some good info out there! Hopefully some other members who work in healthcare can chime in and give you some more info!
