yea... if anyone saw my previous post in the USMA section, I would also like a general idea of what the menu is at Annapolis, preferably a monthly menu (pdf maybe) because, I reiterate, I remember finding the menu online some months back but it has disappeared..

*Shout out to all the King Hall workers, they work very hard and are always there (they were there every time there was a huge snowstorm) to make sure everyone was fed

i saw the video but I'm more interested in a monthly menu of some sort. i want to see whether the academy really does serve fresh homemade ice-cream year round

When I went to a CVW in October, I was amazed at the food. It's literally everywhere. It's endless and there is a huge variety of everything. It's more of an American style though but I'm not complaining. :)

When feeding 4000 midshipmen it is difficult to make every meal great. DS is not keen on most the food at USNA, but that may be due to the fact that he was spoiled at home?!?

Not so sure about a huge variety... The food is decent, some meals are better than others. I actually think the food has gotten better then when I was there. You won't starve, the menu can get reptitive. I think that is par for the course of any school, not just a SA. There are always the fall backs if you don't like what they are serving... PB&J and cereal.

The food is good. It's not great. Sometimes it's outright bad. Sometimes it's just not there.

King Hall messes up occasionally; you end up with reheated pizza from an event last weekend or food runs out thirty minutes into rolling tray. Drydock and Steerage are available for the bad days.

Cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and peanut butter/tuna sandwiches are common alternatives and always available.

We were fortunate to have an outstanding SuppO over the last few years. He took midshipman input and significantly improved the quality of meals in King Hall (and thus significantly improved quality of life overall). Food is definitely better now than it was my plebe year.

Sounds like not much has changed since I was there! But my firsttie year food did improve significantly.

There was ice cream but it wasn't homemade..

I think most current/former mids can say that usually mexican nights and some asian nights would be considered "undesirable" meals, lots of ordering out on those nights for myself personally or going with the good ol' reliable sea sparrow from steerage
