We have a son who is being recruited to play football for USMA. We can call the coach and ask, but I thought someone would have the answer here...

How do cadets that play football, also handle all of the other rigors such as the beast? If a you report at the end of June at the USMA...all D1 football players start attending summer practices at the same time???

The athletes for all sports practice during "sport" time. However, the football team does a modified beast schedule. They will make up the other required elements at a later date. In order to be ready for the season, they cannot do the entire normal beast schedule.

During Beast last summer, my DS's roommate was a recruited football player. The football players participated in most of Beast up until Lake Frederick. They stayed behind for football practice while the rest went to Lake Frederick. The day before Lake Frederick, the football players moved out of their Beast rooms. My DS was so excited to have his own room for all of 24 hours! The football players (and Coach Ellis) did participate in the March Back......and then they went back to football practice.
