What can one I do to improve them.?

USNA Sprint Football!!

If you're under 172lbs, I would suggest looking into the Sprint Football League at USNA. My BGO told me about it, and it sounds really cool for anyone who is relatively light. Here's some more information about what Sprint Football is if you don't already know- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprint_football

The answer is the same as the answer to your similar post in the West Point forum -- it is very difficult to make the team at USNA as a walk-on.

On improving your chances, you say you had some interest (offers?) from other schools. Maybe your HS coach could contact the Navy staff to advocate for you to get a real look as a walk-on (or at least for them to look at some game film on you if they haven't yet).

If you really love the game football and it's not just about the prestige, consider Sprint Football as advised in the West Point forum and by the previous poster. It is tackle football, it is a varsity sport, and Army and Navy have the two best sprint football programs. And it's always a good bunch of guys at Navy.

When my DD was a Plebe summer squad leader, she had a Plebe who wanted to try out for football. She said there is a tryout during Plebe summer. I doubt that many people make the roster who weren't recruited, but you'll never know if you don't try. As others have mentioned, if you meet the weight limit, Sprint football could also be a good option.

Yes I posted same question on diffrent forums to gather as much advice as possible.
Took your advice regarding HS Coach / films
Thank you..

Thank you for your advice. Working on bulking up and will definitely look into Sprint Football

Thanks 2012mom?
From what I gathered.. It's VERRY difficult, but possible.
And Sprint Football is a good option..

What does it take to be a manager of any of the sports teams?

The captain sends a Brigade wide email asking for managers, you reply and then the captain/coach picks who they want.

As for walking on to football, as stated before it's almost impossible. A lot of the big sports, football included, generally "over recruit" assuming that a fair number of recruited plebes will drop (from the sport or the Academy) and still have to make cuts even among those that they recruit.
