i know foreign language is required and pretty much depends on the needs of the AF. do we have a choice if we wanted to take russian, chinese, arabic ,etc? i read something about a test during bct to determine that but is there an option to request any of those particular languages? i did spanish for 5 years, what is the chance of me getting spanish vs any of these languages? im interested in learning russian to just broaden my exposure to another language. thanks.

Everyone is required to take a minimum of 2 semesters of a foreign language (Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, Russian or Portuguese).
If you declare a non-technical major such as history or English, then you're required to take 2 more semesters.
People who suck at foreign languages can get a waiver if they are going to fail the class.
One can earn a language minor with a total of 6 semesters of a language.

During BCT, you will take a language test based on a language you already have experience it.
I took 3 years of French in high school, so I took a French test.
You also request what language you want to study.

I chose Russian, and I'm doing really well in the class.
This summer I will be going to Russia for a 4 week language immersion training.
Also, I feel I have a pretty good chance in getting accepted for a semester abroad my fall semester of senior year.
