Foreign Language

No preference form an admissions standpoint. The key is doing language at an advanced level in h.s.

If you take a language offered at USNA, you may be able to validate some or all of your language requirement (for Group III majors) or validate so that you can take language at a higher level to satisfy your humanities requirements (Group I/II majors).

Well, that's how it used to be . . .

There are some "target" languages that may lead to varying opportunities. Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese ... are obvious ones. Proficiency level(s) determined by exam in 1/C
year can result in substantial pay enhancements ... but be warned, one needs to really be proficient. I don't believe the old standbys ... French, Latin, German, Spanish ... are eligible for these. Perhaps some others can verify/edify.
