Hi! I was just notified about being considered for sponsorship into the United States Naval Academy Foundation Program for the year of 2015. Does that mean I officially got into the program? And will I be guaranteed a spot for the class of 2020 upon completion of the program?

I do not think anything is official until you receive a letter or phone call telling you such. Sounds like you are in the running! There are no 100% guarantees, but it is as close as you can get to one for the following year. If you complete the program and requirements outlined I think you should get an appointment with no issue. I think its 99% you would get one. I leave that extra percent out as every once in a while you hear something weird happening, but that is usually because a candidate doesn't do something as outlined. I think if you read these forums you will see most folks believe foundation is an excellent program and the large majority of candidates who attend prep school believe it was a great year that helped them out down the road. Best of luck, I hope it works out. Keep us informed!

I received a phone call from one of the lieutenants saying the admission board will be submitting my information to the Foundation Program. Thank you for replying!

Its great they reached out and asked, hopefully that leads an offer! Looks like they are coming close to finalizing the list. If you do get an offer, I hope you accept it. There is a list of approved schools to choose from. Carefully review them with your family and pick which is best for you academically, financially, etc. There is tons of info on this forum from folks who have attend various schools. Hopefully you get the chance to pick one of those schools.

Thank you very much! I really do hope everything turns out well. I sent out 13 recommendation letters after finding out I was on the wait list haha. A little too much, I suppose.

USAUSA,

To whom did you send the recommendation letters? The Prep schools on the list? The USNA?

I sent everything to the e-mail they told us to respond to. I believe that address belongs to the admission board.

USAUSA,
What sports do you play if any?
Have you heard anything back yet on this?

Congratulations USAUSA on being selected as a Foundation sponsored candidate.
