Friday appointments

Did you get a letter in the mail after the initial e-mail? If so, how long did it take? Also, did it have additional paperwork and instructions for you?

I think that a person has to post a certain number of times OR perhaps a certain amount of time has to elapse before PMs are allowed.

He received the email in mid February. The letter came about a week later. It stated that he was in the Tier 1 majors, and designated which school the scholarship was to be used. There were explicit instructions in the letter and then on line.

SWEET! I have been really confused like "where do I go from here"? It's good to know that more info will be coming soon! Thanks so much for your help!

I'm still hoping for good news for you family regarding USAFA! :D
 
There will be a deadline, by which you will need to "activate" the scholarship. My understanding is that this does not obligate you to anything.

Good luck to you as well. It's nerve-wracking! Trying to stay positive. Every day there is no TWE in the mail is another day he's still in the hunt. My wife said it best, using pop-culture reference: "Well his torch is still lit. He hasn't been voted off the island yet."
 
I'm just thankful that my DS got a full ride to play FB for a civilian college and we get to get off this crazy roller coaster. My heart goes out to you all because I know it's agonizing for you. Keep the faith and remember that the good Lord has a plan for all of you. Best of luck to you all and hopefully you'll get great news very soon.

Yeah, I accepted the scholarship since they said you can back out at any time.
Still holding out for the e-BFE though, but now I won't be COMPLETELY devastated by a TWE. Lol, I LOVE the Survivor reference. If I get a TWE, I'm just going to say "the tribe has spoken". Haha!

Thank you! My church is praying hard for me, and they keep saying "God's will be done!" to which I reply, "Agreed, I just hope it's in His will for me to go to USAFA!". We shall see shortly, I expect!

We are playing the game for all three and still waiting to hear from NROTC. DS did receive 4 yr AROTC, but I have to say that the TWE threads in the Naval Academy and USMA thread is heartbreaking to watch! I am just a nervous wreck as judgement day seems to be approaching rapidly!

I'm completely freaking -- waking up in the middle of the night wondering, "what if..." Middle of the day wondering, "what if..."
DS is SOooo hoping to follow in his grandfather's footsteps (USAFA c/o '62). DS is handling it really well -- better than me that's for sure.
Cannot wait for Friday to get here but very nervous!

Do we have any definitive reason to believe Friday is THE DAY, or are we just kind of going on last year's stats? As nukepharm implied, we may NOT want to hear from USAFA on Friday the 13th....
 
Honestly, I have come to the point where I have decided to just enjoy senior year and let the chips fall where they may.......Attending the academy has been my dream since the fifth grade, but if I don't get in this year than by gosh I'll apply next year out of AFROTC. Best of luck to everybody!
