From NASS to TWE...

similar time lines here too. I remember when he applied for NASS. I asked DS if he understood that by clicking the SEND button he was sighing up to join the Navy. He said he did understand that.

So he clicked the SEND button.

You are definitely NOT signing up for the Navy by applying to NASS.

In fact, you can get an appointment to the Naval Academy and check the "YES" box for accepting the appointment ... and simply not show up for I-Day. There's not a thing "the Navy" can do about it. That happens on occasion, although rarely.

One young man, appointed to the Class of 2013, didn't complete the processing in Alumni Hall on I-Day. When it came time for him to get his hair cut, he refused. He was never sworn in. Technically, I do not believe that counted in the "attrition" statistics because he was never sworn in. My guess is that he was never that committed in the first place. He was probably planning to quit in the near future. When he realized that he was going to get all his hair buzzed off, I guess he figured he would quit sooner rather than later.
