A few days ago I was invited to participate in a scholarship competition for a full scholarship to the Citadel (I have already been accepted). My question is, did anybody else get an invitation/ how many people are invited? Thanks!

CONGRADULATIONS ! I was also accepted to el cid, however, I wasn't notified do you mind me asking your SAT scores and unweighted/weighted GPA? I believe thats what they look at as well as grades... I have a 1760 on the SAT, 1160 math/reading. My GPA's are 3.78 and 4.6. I've made all A's and a few B's throughout high school. I was told at the time of my interview there that a may be notified/ eligable... but again, no word.

Thanks! I had about a 1900 SAT/ 4.1887 GPA/ 4.0... I took all the Honors classes my high school offered- it was just small:D
I did not have to do an interview...
Congrats on getting accepted!

I believe there are normally 3 competitions per year with about 100-110 total applicants invited to compete for 20-25 or so full scholarships. 2 years ago (the year I applied) there were competitions in November, January and March.

If you're going to be competing for a scholarship then I highly recommend that you apply for the Honors program. It's a fantastic program that will really set you up well for anything after graduation.

Here are links to the Scholarship Committee, the scholarships, and to the Honors Program:

I was invited to the program in November, but wasn't able to go as I had something else going on that weekend, and then I wasn't able to go to the January one either. I will be at this one though! I'm pretty excited, it would be pretty amazing if I was able to win the scholarship.

Maybe I will see you there!
Have you applied to a service academy also/ been accepted?

I applied to USAFA, but I'm still waiting. I've sent an application to Texas A&M as well. What branch do you plan on going for your visit?

What do you mean?
I am trying to decide between the Air Force and Marine Corps...
(I applied to both the USAFA and USNA).

I see on The Citadel's website that from the last competition, the results indicate that 15 out of 16 people considered were offered a scholarship, with a majority receiving a full scholarship.

I also was accepted about a week ago (applied in January) but havent gotten a 'invitation' to this yet, but my GPA was 3.6 and ACT 25, so I dont know if they will offer me that. When did you guys apply?

I was accepted in September.

What a coincidence... today I recieved a letter from the citadel explaining to me scholarship opportunities. However, it didn't say much else. Are they hinting that I am an applicant? Or is this a mass letter?
