I doubt it will be up for a while, I had trouble finding FY 13 for quite a few months

I spoke to my MSIII instructor about this, and was told that it wouldn't be released until sometime late fall'ish.

It's been made available to most cadre. If you need a copy, email Cadet Command accessions branch or ask your cadre to do so. We were able to get a copy of it from Mr. Hefner to help our cadets make informed decisions about accessions.

Found the FY 14 accesions, https://www.google.com/#q=FY+14+ACCESIONS+BRIEF+AROTC

I kind of suprised about the Special Branch Program. Seems like it's only offering AD to STEM majors. From what I was told at LDAC that business majors could get Active Duty in branches like Ordance, or Quartermaster. Those degrees are under there highlighted in Blue but, doesent say anything about Active Duty. Anyone care to clarify?? Reason I ask is because there cadets in my program interested, but don't know if its the degrees in blue or highlighted in yellow that gurantee AD if they ADSO and have 2.75

I have a couple questions. I am at a computer that won't allow me to access the Poer Point Slides.

Am I correct that they are holding 50% of the certain branches for cadets that hold certain degrees?

Are there a certain number of cadets that are allowed to use this ADSO program to get guaranteed AD through these branch selections?

If a cadet would make the AD cutoff with their OMS, can they use this ADSO program to guarantee one of these branch selections with the proper degree, or is this just for those that would have been below the AD cutoff?

Will cadets that meet the requirements for this ADSO program be added to the original AD Mission Goal, or will they reduce the original goal once they see how many cadets take advantage of this program to get AD?

Will the cadets that are below the AD cutoff that request AD through this program be on their own OML, meaning that just because you have the minimum 2.75 GPA doesn't mean you will automatically get that AD branch?

maybe I have an older version of Explorer, but when I click on your link, it brings me to a full page of Google hits for your search criterion. I don't know which link takes me to the slide presentation.

*edit* never mind, I found it in the second listed link... the sharepoint.

Many of the slides for Special Program accessions advise the cadet to "make sure you are listed as ADM4" in order to take advantage of the program. Anyone know what that means?

I believe it's the category your degree is placed in. ADM4 could be a category of associated STEM degrees.

^ yes, that is mostly correct, but just Engineering. Here is the basic rundown:

- ADM1: arts, liberal arts, and most social sciences
- ADM2: Business, Accounting, and other Management/Administration related majors
- ADM3: Physical and Biological sciences, plus Math/Statistics
- ADM4: Engineering, all flavors
- ADM5: Nursing

FYI the Navy counts the opposite direction:

- Tier1, Engineering (almost all, but not all)
- Tier2, Math and Sciences, and the Engineering not part of Tier1
- Tier3, everything else

The NROTC Scholarship Board must give 85% of scholarships to Tiers 1 and 2 combined, leaving only 15% for Tier3.

That is an interesting FY14 Accessions brief. The information was very similar to the one I got in 11th Reg. But somehow information did not match up.

1. They never mentioned specific degrees when they briefed us. All they said was "if you have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA, select one of these branches as your first choice and branch detail you will get AD". I specifically remembered that since it was mind boggling they would even offer something like that.

I wonder why they would have specific degrees in this presentation but not the one they briefed us at LDAC? Maybe they ruled out the degrees requirement?

2. On the last slide of this presentation, it looks like AG will not lower their GPA standards for the special programs, but the one they briefed us at LDAC still counted AG within the 2.75 GPA.

I was in 1st regimet, but we should have received the same theatre brief. The degree information was in the brief. They even mentioned to stop by durig branch orientation day to pick up a copy ofthe list of majors. Perhaps for your iteration it just got buried under the vast amount of discussion points covered in the limited time they had for the briefing.

I was in 10th regiment and they talked about certain set of degrees for each of the special branch program branches that would guarantee AD provided a cadet makes it there number 1, adso's for it, and has a 2.75/appropriate degree.

However what confuses me is that it seems like only STEM degree holders are guaranteed AD through this program according to this PowerPoint. However when I was at LDAC the representative told me that a business degree would guarantee AD in a branch like quartermaster, provided a cadet had the 2.75 gpa and ADSO'd for it. Plus he told a girl who had a finance degree, the same for her getting FI branch.

To clarify, does this program only guarantee AD to stem majors or to a variety of majors?

Business degrees are mentioned for certain branches in the PowerPoint slide. For example, Ordnance accepts Business Administration. Perhaps you overlooked it.

Okay. Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe they did say "certain degrees" but didn't tell us specifically which.

Thanks for the clear up.

I also saw business degrees being mentioned under ordnance corps. However when I looked closer, it seemed like there was a distinction between the business degree, cause it was highlighted in blue and didn't say anything about AD being guaranteed with a 2.75/ADSO/make branch preference first choice.

The STEM degrees which were highlighted in yellow, however said that cadets are guaranteed AD with a 2.75.

At LDAC, I was told that business, finance, and other certain non stem degrees guarantee AD in some branches by a accessions Representative there. I'm assuming that this slide brief was older, and not what was given as the theater brief at LDAC like you said in a earlier post. I would like to get more info, cause there are cadets in my BN curious, and sad thing is that cadre seem to be in the dark about this program since its so new.

I believe that this is not an unlimited back door to AD.

If I read it right, 50% of each of these branch allocations are being held for certain degrees, What I'm not sure is how many of those are help for this ADSO program. It seems to me that they will still look at the OMS and OML for those that are below the AD cutoff and apply for this program.

Point is, I don't think this will be a program where every cadet that is below the cutoff, has a 2.75 GPA and the required major will get AD guaranteed, they will draw a line someplace.

I can sure understand how battalion cadres are scrambling to understand all the in's and out's.
