FY14 OML Timeline

I think your daughter meant 5 points out of the total available for extracurriculars (I forget what that total is). The section for cadet training/extracurriculars that CULP/Abn/AA are a part of is only worth 4.5 points for everything, which includes clubs, color guard, etc.

It could be but that's not the way she explained it. Her fiance (also an ROTC cadet in the 12th Reg) attended CULP this summer and the way she understood it, that CULP assignment wqas worth 5 points.

Disclaimer: My daughter may not have been paying attention a great deal since both she and her fiance are both Nursing cadets and their career paths are pretty much set.

Well, to put that in perspective 5 OML points is the difference between a 3.5 and a 4.0 GPA.

On a different note, has anyone heard anything regarding December commissionees and orders?

2014 AROTC OML Model

Here's a link to the 2014 OML model provided several months ago by AscoreD.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2UFy_vrSlkcREI0WXBKYlZoUjg/edit?pli=1.

The model is confusing (duh and double duh). It's hard to tell how many points CULP, Project GO or airborne/air assault, etc. count for on the OML or even if they're in the same category. One thing is that the PMS-Experienced Based Observations has a greater weighting than in the 2013 model. Another is that it does not appear that these worthwhile activities individually count for as much as 5 pts. on the OML.

Along with my son and Mariner's and GoalieDad's daughters, AscoreD is hopefully passing gas today at LDAC. (photos from 5th regt.)

A little off topic, but can you apply for multiple summer things (for lack of a better word)?

For example, can you apply for both Airborne and CULP for the same summer and if accepted to both only pick one?

My son said that was one experience he would care not to repeat!
