Can one have a bad high school record, get a GED, go to a junior college and do well, and still get into a service academy?

Someone who knows more should post as well, but here is my two cents.
As long as you do well in college and provide an explanation for poor high school grades I am sure the Academy will consider your application.
    Good Luck!!

Anything is possible. Probable is another thing. Those 3 steps might work for high priority candidates, but hard to imagine for the so-called "average" candidate. Now, add on enlistment to those steps and the chances might be enhanced w/ USN personnel able to make a mano-mano assessment.

In any case, call USNA and ask.
