My son, who is soon to be a hs senior, has been invited to attend the Genesis Program in September. Can anyone give me some insight into what he can expect?

Thanks

Well, basically it is a program aimed at increasing diversity at the Academy by inviting potential candidates from underrepresented groups for a two-day visit. You get to tour the Academy, meet with cadets, professors and coaches and overall get a feel for life at the CGA. I think it's a great opportunity for your son.

I know this is an old post, but I have some questions.

I was reading on the CGA website and saw that this program is for first generation college students as well. Neither of my parents are college grads. Do I qualify as well? I'm already attending Cadet for a Day in September.

Thanks:biggrin:

Applicants who are first generation college students, meaning neither parent went to college, are eligible to attend the Genesis Invitational; however, I think you would find it very similar to Cadet for a Day. You can contact your Admissions Officer to see if there are still spots available in any of the GI sessions...like CFAD, they usually fill up pretty quickly.
