    Hello everyone!

I am heading back to school this fall as a freshman and I am planning on joining the ROTC with the hope to either get a type 1 in college scholarship for my sophmore year onward or do a GFRD scholarship and SMP if the ROTC scholarship doesn't work out.

Here is my question... The program I am going into is a 3+2 aerospace engineering program where I do 3 years at Franciscan University and the last 2 at Notre Dame. If I take the GFRD scholarship will I be able to transfer that to Notre Dame and change national guard units from Ohio to Indiana or do I have to stay in Ohio where I started the GFRD/SMP?

Are you looking to go guard or reserves? If you go reseves for GFRD the state doesn't matter.

Doesn't GFRD force you into the reserves? Let's assume reserves.

However what I think I mean is that I will be doing SMP in the guard during school. Will they be fine with me changing from units?

So I guess my question is actually will they allow me to change from Ohio national guard to Indiana national guard and change the unit I drill with when I transfer schools?

Also, I have another question. I live in Tampa Florida and will be going to school in ohio. How does being in the Ohio guard work while I am in Florida for the summer? Do I have to fly up to drill with them or do I change units to Florida over the summer?
