Going to INDOC without parents

We stayed at the Great Neck Inn and befriended a soon to be plebe he was fine. I assure you there will be many a parent ready to "adopt" and look after your child. Our drop off was very fast that morning and we spent the rest of the day "stalking" to try to find a quick glimpse of our DS. All will be fine, I assure you. Get ready to sped countless hours looking for photos.

Oh stalking for photos- does that ever being back memories of last summer! I think I did productive work for 30 minutes/day and searched photos for the other 7 1/2! The whole time I kept marveling at how well I was coping. Looking back- it was the "lost summer" and I was a disaster!:shake:

As I will most likely be one of the solo kids. I have decided to find a random family and attach myself to them so that I will have someone to hug and kiss goodbye that day

I am not sure I will be there but if I am I will have a big hug for you.

Madrid19 - GREAT IDEA! In order to endear yourself immediately to one of your male Class of 2014 classmates, I suggest you find the one with the cutest sister there and "attach" yourself to her, I mean his family. After all no sense in waiting much longer than the day you report to begin your full and final transformation into a "real" Kings Pointer.

Exactly Jasperdog! Except if I was smarter I would find one of the cadre's families and attach myself to them so that they would be easier on me during Indoc

Traveling solo

My son is class of 2014. I literally live 25 miles away from USMMA. Anybody traveling solo that needs to be picked up at airport, a place to stay and a ride to R-day send me a private message and I'll help you coordinate with your parents. First come first served. This is NOT a problem and will jump start the bond.

aaahhh..memories

reading these posts brings back memories of our ds 1st indoc, our time with him at home before he left, the parties for him, the moments of looking at him sleeping in his own bed and the last night with him inthe hotel, writing a private letter to him under a tree in our backyard, saying good by and being glued to this fabulous forum, waiting for photos and the 1st phone call.. All parents welcome to the KP family. You have people here and with the Parent Association. Use them! :thumb:
