Two books I read recently were both military history books. One, Enemy at the Gates, (the movie is about 10 pages of the whole book) is about the siege of Stalingrad in WWII, pretty much the turning point of the war. Good info dealing with the politics Hitler was playing with the army. The other one was called Tiger Force, about a special forces group in Vietnam that when there were many new recruits in the group who did not go through the same training process as the group had before (ambush that eliminated many members and leaders wanting the force back out as soon as possible... you get the picture) they began being involved in war crime subject material.
Both books were fairly good, I always like books that analyze in a sense why something failed the way it did. I like to live by the saying, "learn from the mistakes of others, you can't live long enough to make them all yourself." Good stuff nonetheless.
