My DS, who was a self prep this year at NMMI, will be attending Cal Maritime as a Marine Transportation major in the fall. He has been denied twice by the USCGA and was just denied by USMMA. His year at NMMI was the best investment I have ever made. I was very concerned a year ago after he received his "no" from USCGA that going to the local community college was going to kill his motivation. I learned about NMMI from the forums, he visited NMMI a year ago at this time and he made the decision to attend. I felt that this would be a great opportunity to see if he was even cut out for the military lifestyle. Now a year later, the transformation in his personality and maturity are remarkable. He still has his goal of serving in the Coast Guard, but he will take a different path.
I am grateful for everything I have learned here at the forums. I am now giving up the forum stalking and mailbox stalking.
Best regards,
Ozzy's Mom
