Well I am applying to the Academy this year and I have everything already lined up and ready. What I would just like to know where I stand. Could anyone tell me the GPAs of people they know got in with and their ACT or SAT score? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the link. I have already been on cappex and all the other sites. But cappex doesn't get those from colleges they just get them from kids who just type in the numbers and they can be anything.

Whiplasher my DS's SAT scores were 700 English and 690 Math and ACT composite score was a 31

His GPA was a 3.5

I will tell you that while these numbers are important it is the whole person that will be looked at:thumb: Good Luck:smile:

Thanks for the replies. I will be looking at a 3.0 GPA coming out of high school and around a 32 on the ACT maybe more taking it 2 more times. I have not taken the SAT yet but am in October.

As for looking at the person as a whole I think that will help me. I am the VP of a club, have work experience (lifeguard, expo), varsity on track and field for 2 years, over 30 service hours, and a few other things that are mentioned in my recommendation letters.

I had a 2.9 and less than 1100 on my SATs. That was 20 years ago though, so don't let it get your hopes up too much.

35 years ago, I had about the same (1140 SAT, though) and got in. Larger class size then. Of course as you have learned on other boards, getting in is kind of the easy part. Even getting through school can be easier than getting along at sea, depending on one's attitude.

Well I do know people from my current high school got accepted to the school with a 26 ACT and 3.0 GPA. Also one thing I just realized is the transcripts I am sending in only have the last 3 years and wont have any of my senior year grades on them. So there for I am going into the school with what I think is around a 2.7 GPA or a 83.2% average for all 3 years. This might hurt my chances but I hope my ACT score will help me out.

Whiplasher,

Once you complete, or mostly complete, you application, you will receive a letter from the office of admissions suggesting that you update with Senior year schedule and semester grades as well as any other accolades or accomplishments that might occur in the next five or six months, so there is time to shine.

Good luck.

P.S. Just from curiosity, what is you state of residence?

Answer

Average applicants are 3.0 or better. Keep in mind, we take note of the strength of course. So if you have a 2.7 with all AP courses, your application won't be frowned upon.

KP Diversity - Thanks for that info. Is the entire Class Profile for the Class of 2016 available somewhere? I can only find the 2015 info on the website.

Thank You
