Does anyone out there know what the typical "average" GPA is of West Point plebes? Range? What is highest and what is lowest?

I can't give you an accurate average but I can tell you the average cumulative GPA (academic, physical, and military) for the class of 2010 was 2.8.

The highest GPA (academic only) last year for Plebes was like 4.2 last year if I recall correctly and the lowest was 0.8 (that Plebe is obviously no longer here). These are the extremes, however.

Just wondering but how is it that a Plebe could have a 4.2 GPA?

    An A+ counts for 4.33 GPA (A is 4.0, A- is 3.67, B+ is 3.33, etc).

Ah, I didn't know West Point did A+...that certainly makes academics that much more competitive.

I understand that there are cadets with above a 4.2. What I am wondering is how the range is. Is 4.2 an outlier, with the person ranked 10th in the class being 3.8? Or, basically, what is the 50th percentile?
