Just wanted to introduce myself...

I'm the father of three units (children) 12, 16, & 18 and one very lovable certified therapy (CGC, TDI) black labrador.

First the dog:
Sleeps on my chest, loves treets, smells really bad after he gets out of the swamp, jumps off a small rock island that kids jump off of and then pushes them to shore (have no idea where he got that or why he does it), scared of cats, loves to go into schools, come to practice with me and has several dog show wins!! But for me he is my pal!!

Okay now the kids:
One would think they should have come first and they do but at times I give the dog some love.

Daughter: 12
Love her and for the life of me and all do respect I will never understand the female. Guys, we have it easy!!
She would like to get into the study of outerspace, clever girl she tests out in the John Hopkins University program. Only 12 but has a strong interest in the USNA. Her fear is being asked to serve on a sub. I think she is okay in that department. She has visited colleges with her older brother so her No.2 is Villanova. Has her mothers brains!

Son: 16
I'm posting on him now... Jr. in HS, varsity in two sports, silent leader, calm, cool and collected, a thinker in and out of the box, wants to study electrical engineering like his brother. Loves keeping things simple and understandable for others!

Son: 18
Applied for NROTC and was in it until the very end but was told that the budget cut affected the scholarships. They said that if he was a senior a year prior he would have been in. They kept calling asking him to reapply but he wanted to wait. His application was very strong and got a glowing review by an 07 select. Not getting the scholarship hurt him; however, he has not given up. He wanted to complete a year in college and go for the NUPOC. He wants to apply for the USNA and knows that he would need to start all over again.

Bride of 22 years:
Respectful to all but I married the greatest lady in the world.
She is always there for the kids, dog and me.
She is the most selfless person you could meet.
She gets better every day we are together.
And....she puts up with me!!

Me:
Joined the Navy...loved it, aside from my bride, kids, and dog the Navy was the greatest thing I ever did, never had one bad day.
Got out to marry my wonderful bride and returned to college and finished with two degrees.

Collectively:
Very close family, we do everything together. The kids enjoy being around us and look fwd. to family vacations in the summer. The three of them are currently planning the vacation and letting us know the when and where. It always ends up being Willamsburg VA. We all love it there...

Well I guess that would be a intro.

BEST. INTRO. EVER.

Welcome to the forums. Hopefully you'll get all of your DoDMERB and USNA questions answered. Best to you, your family, and your dog!

Well Thank you...

Thank you for the reply and thank you for including my dog. English labradors are the best!!:groupwave: Many of my questions have been answered, there are a lot of very positive people with some great feedback.
