Has anyone gotten an appointment off of the NWL yet?

McCollum

Keep your chin up...you never know what will happen. Could you explain what you mean by your slates are taken? Do you mean that the people who gave you noms had a first choice that took the opening to the academy you wanted?

I see some on here who were appointed to 3 service academies, and they are listed under each one for the class of 2015. When they make a decision, could that free up a spot for you?

Again, good luck to you.

Yeah, I mean it's not completely over for those slates. If that person does decide not to accept the appointment, they will go down the list until they find a qualified candidate.

look at class of 2014

You can look at the class of 2014 to see dates of appoints, etc. to see that there is still a long way to go for all service academies. It is a long wait. There are so many like you who are .....waiting.....and it just takes time.

Hang in there guys. A week ago, I was positive that I would never receive an appointment to the United States Military Academy. Today I was proven wrong. Just keep on keepin on. I know personally that waiting is tough, but it pays off.

DS received congresswoman's nomination early last week and next day received letter in the mail that he was wait listed. Couple of days later he received nomination letter from senator. Yesterday he received his appointment in the mail. He is in heaven. Good luck to those of you still waiting to hear.

Congrats! I still wonder how I fare as far as appointment wise...

Alright, I just called Major Tolman. First, I am triple qualified and am now on the NWL. I am also in the top 3% of the NWL.

But, I lost the vacancy for my senator, but my congressman's vacancy is open, and will remain open until they decide probably next month (March mass mailing). Now concerning whether I win my congressman's vacancy or not, Major Tolman was being very candid with me and stated that I probably could win, but it's unlikely that I will. So essentially, I either get lucky and win it, or win appointment through the NWL...making top 3% doesn't sound that bad though.

SWEET!!! Top 3% is great!

Eh...I'm still unsure. There's been quite a few appointments made off the NWL. Should have asked him how many slots were open as far as NWL appointments are concerned.

Never mind, he just e-mailed me saying that he misspoke. He meant the top 1/3...
