Havent heard yet

I received a medical waiver in January but never received any kind of conditional offer. I did get the call from my Congressman in mid-February about my appointment though. So, who knows? Perhaps it would be more helpful to find instances of people who were waived but DIDN'T get in.

For those that got the TWE this year, keep the faith! If you really want to be at USNA, keep trying. I got the TWE last year, but now that I have gone through a year of college, I have learned that it was good for me to stay home for an extra year. I am thankful for being denied last year. I did get in this year. There is hope. Enroll at a 4 year university and do the best you can in technical courses. And don't stop exercising.

Medical waivers are only reviewed if, had you not had the medical disqualification, USNA would have offered you an appointment. If you satisfy this condition, you will get a conditional offer of appointment pending your medical waiver review. If USNA has already determined you will not be offered an appointment, then your medical waiver will not be processed and a TWE will be sent.

I'm still a little confused on the timeframe then. If they were to offer a Conditional Offer of Appointment, would I be notified of THAT by April 15, then have to worry about the waiver, or could I expect everything to be wrapped up by the 15th? Sorry, I'm just not really sure how that works. Thank you for your help.

Nothing in the mail for DS again today. The waiting is difficult.....

Son received what I can only assume is a TWE (he's not here and I'm not going to open it). All is good. AFA was his first choice and he accepted his appointment last week. Good luck to everyone still waiting. BTW, we are in Virginia, just to give a gauge on when you might expect a letter to make it to your neck of the woods.

vareporter - thanks for the heads-up. Glad your son got his first choice, I'm sure he'll enjoy his time here in the Centennial State! I love it down at AFA - we camped there frequently WAY BACK when I was a Scout, and we try to attend at least one game at Falcon Stadium every year - even though we always seem to pick the weekend that invites frost-bite.

As for mail delivery to CO - I'm beginning to wonder if we should have maintained the Pony Express routes...

Emailed my Admissions Counselor to see if a decision had been made on my file yet. STILL no decision! This is driving me insane. Is it a good or bad sign that they have taken so long? I know that my MOC hasn't had an appointment yet and I also have an NJROTC and Presidential nom so i'm not sure what to think.

The TWE is here.

Received TWE today. I'm fine with their decision. Already accepted appointment to USMA.

Go Army, Beat Navy!!

We are a Navy family (four generations). My husband jokes that it's because our youngest was born on an Air Force based that he always wanted to go AF instead. He said it's like a salmon swimming upstream to where they were born. I guess I'll have to get used to the AF way of doing things.

Good luck and I hope you get good news soon!

TWE received

Go Army, Beat Navy!!

DS received TWE today too but has accepted appointment to USMA.

GO ARMY, Beat Navy!!

Still waiting here too. DS accepted USAFA though so pressure is off but it would still be nice to hear official word.

DS also received the TWE today but has already accepted to USMA which was his first choice anyways.

But now I can say with conviction: Go Army, Beat Navy! :thumb:

Got the TWE. Unless a miracle happens and I get in USCGA, Cornell NROTC it is and reapplying next year.

DS got the TWE today as well. Still holding out hopes he'll be selected from the USCGA waitlist, and we still haven't gotten a decision from NROTC scholarship yet. So we're still up in the air.

DS got TWE today. But he does have appointment with USMMA and a NROTC with Texas A&M. He also is on the wait list for USMA. Choices to be made, but good ones. Good luck to everyone.

Don't be surprised if you fall in love with the view from high above Cayuga's waters, relish the camaraderie of your NROTC unit, and decide to stay at Cornell. Life could be worse!

Very true! I'm ecstatic about Cornell, but it comes with a hefty price tag and I don't have a NROTC scholarship. Of course I will attempt to get a three year scholarship, but I'm going to the ILR school which is non technical and it will probably be very hard for me to get one. In the end I want to be a naval officer, and I rather go the route that is free.

Yes, free is good. As a college programmer you will be eligible to apply for a sideload scholarship the second semester of your freshman year. Do well, and I'll be rooting for your success on either path. :thumb:

Nothing in the mail yet. This process is excruciating. I didn't get the letter of acceptance to summer seminar until late in the process last year, so that provides hope and it's probably geographical.
