Im applying for multiple Rotc programs in the military and Im a little concerned about my hearing be a DQ factor. I have a little below average hearing in my left ear and I have slight tinnitus. I would like to know what are the requirements for hearing. I want to know so I can have a doctor check it out and see if this road is even worth going down. Thanks

Nobody can give you an answer, you just need to go through the process and if it comes down to a waiver, hope you get one. They will pay for the exams, thus the only thing you are out is your time.

I will say that you should look into the tinnitus issue. Again, I don't know the requirements and the levels, but when Bullet retire in 08, one of his disabilities according to the VA is tinnitus. He didn't have it when he entered, but because of 20 yrs flying and the high drone of the engines, even with ear plugs, he had it when he retired.

This is also really a DoDMERB question and should be moved to the DoDMERB forum
