    Dear Service Academy forums,

I get just offered a 3 year Army ROTC (National Guard scholarship) which will be activated this september. I just keep thinking of anything that could DQ me. I currently have tinnitus (ringing in the ear). I only had it for 2 years and it's getting better. My uncle who was a United States Special Forces Operator and never had a problem through medical exams. I went to private doctor last summer for a hearing test and i had a cold which makes tinnitus 20x worse. I couldn't hear crap. I told my doctor i can hear very low noises so he brought in this special machine the test the Decibel reading of the ear. He printed out the results and it showed i had prefect hearing. I am in army ROTC and i am an enrolled cadet and when i am in security i can hear my Team leaders and cadres either talking or them saying the OPORD. I am extremely nervous about it. Is there a way that this document which prints out the Decibel reading be legal for the DODMERB. I never had a problem hearing people. Some cadets have worse hearing that i would expect. If someone could tell me what to do, to prepare myself for the DODMERB it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    ArmyBulldog42

The hearing screening is NOT something you study for...you just take it and we'll evaluate the results. Don't worry about things you can't control:thumb:

So Mr.Mullen Would my Hearing screening sheet be acceptable for the DoDMERB?
Do you accept paper work from private doctors?
    Thank you!

    Good evening, Mr. Mullen!

I was wondering if you would perhaps have the answer to this question: I am an applicant from overseas (applying from Brazil to the class of 2016). Will I be assigned a DoDMERB exam in a flexible date? I will probably be able to attend whatever date, but, well, I'm "hoping for the best but expecting the worst" (that's what my PEA Summer School Leadership teacher told me haha).

Early info is good info. Early preparation prevents poor performance. Oh well.

I assume I must attend a doctor in the U.S.? (again, probably not an issue.)

Roger that sir. Thank you. I am just nervous. I want to go Special Forces to make a difference in this world and to leave a path for the younger generation to follow like how my grandfather did. I will be alright i am just stressing over alot. I just graduated from Ranger Company in my Battalion and it felt so great knowing i was 1 of the 10 cadets that remained after starting with 26 cadets
