Hello, I'm currently senior in high school and a candidate for the USNA class of 2016. I've been looking for information quite frequently on the academies and ended up on this site a lot. I was fortunate enough to receive an LOA and just today I got a call from my senator scheduling an interview. I have no immediate family members with any experience with the academies and I live in an area where there aren't many who have followed this route. So I just wanted to thank all of you who have made this site a point of clarity in the relative obscurity of SA admissions information.

Upstate NY?

Where about is upstate NY,we live in Atlanta, but came from Canandaigua,NY.

Good Luck to you in your quest!:thumb:

Very Upstate

Haha, you can't get much further and stay in the U.S. Around Plattsburgh and thank you.

Welcome to the forum Otter. Congrats on your LOA.

There are some useful posts about interviewing. Check them out. You need to go into the interview confident and ready to articulate why you want to be a U.S. Navy officer. Being well dressed and maintaining good eye contact are musts as well . . .

Thank you, and BlackBird if you have any advice to give I would gladly accept it. New York is highly competitive with approx. 600 applicants sent. I feel honored to be top 25, but I would really (really) enjoy being top 10.
