Hey all, I'm new to this forum.

I'm a junior in high school from Illinois (northern suburb of Chicago). I'm very interested in the service academies and would love to attend any of them.
In order...
USMA
USNA
USAFA
University of Illinois (NROTC)

I have applied to the summer seminars at all three academies. I was accepted to USMA's and USAFA's, but have not yet heard from NASS. I will be at West Point for session 2(6 June-12 June). Unfortunately, I cannot make it to USAFA's summer seminar. If I get into NASS, I will be there the third week.

Anyone else on here from the Land of Lincoln and Obama (....and sadly, Blagojevich)?

Why can't you make it to USAFA summer seminar? If they assigned you a week you can't attend, you might be able to call them and change it to a different week. If cost is the issue, you still have time to try to raise some money, my son had a yard sale to pay his way to USCGA summer program. Have you thought about USCGA or USMMA? Often these are not considered, but you don't need a nomination for USCGA...just a thought.

Welcome to the forums titan2010. While I am not from Illinois (I am one state north) my dad did ROTC at Urbana-Champaign. I don't think you will go wrong with any of your choices. Best of luck, and be sure to ask if you have any questions.
