Hey guys, I've been checking these forums for a few months but decided to register today.

My name is Chris and I'm a senior in high school on Long Island. I've applied for an AFROTC scholarship (which has really been riding on my lately since the last release date just passed and I haven't received any news) and I'm hoping to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. I've already been accepted there, and they offered a $7000 a year scholarship, but because of costs that particular college hinges on the ROTC scholarship and anything I may get from Civil Air Patrol or other sources (ROTC being the biggest one).

I'm looking forward to being an officer in the Air Force and I've had my sights on being a pilot for as long as I can remember (other choices being Nav and ABM). Everything so far has been pretty smooth but this scholarship is the next hurdle to overcome. Obviously I hope to get something, but I'm determined to become an officer in the military regardless.

Hello Eagle, It is great to have you around. I wish you luck with your ROTC scholarship. Hopefully you will hear something from the next board review coming up in the next few weeks. I hope you will able to gain as much information and knowledge from these forums as I have. They are a great resource that I am very thankful for. If you have any questions, there are so many qualified and knowledgeable people on here that would be happy to help out. Don't give up, the waiting makes it seem worse than it is.

Later,

Brian

Thanks for the welcome. You know, I haven't felt like this waiting for something since Christmas when I was younger. I had no problem with any of the other steps, and actually looked forward to the interview (only worried about Murphy's Law for arriving on time and making sure my clothes stayed perfect )

Actually waiting for the decision is the hard part.
