hi,

my name's alex and im a senior at my school. im really worried that i may not be doing enough to "get in" to West Point. I know that this may be a common issue, but im sure not many applicants had social and academic anxiety (i was surprised myself when i was told this). I did however last summer go to a program to "beat it", and i did:smile: now i have no issues w/ ex: public speaking, test taking, and now as a captain for the varsity track and field team. im worried though, West Point or my congressperson wont know the story and just look at the letters, please help/ advice?

as a lowerclassman: GPA 2.9-3.3 (b/c test anxiety)

after program (junior,senior): GPA 3.8-4.0, SAT: 2300s
captain: Model UN, Debate team, Varsity Track & Field, President of historical society.

as experienced, and knowledgeable members, what do you think?

,
alex

Hey Alex- Sounds like you have a good part to put into your essay. Both the USNA and my MOC apps ask you to discuss some adversity that you have overcome. Alll you can do is explain what you have been through and how you have improved. Keep your chin up.

ah, sorry for not being clear. i was talking about the grading A, B C etc... sorry for the issue

My grades for soph year were as bad if not worse than yours, but after that, I got straight As.
No LOA, but I got in. My SATs were about 100 points lower, too, so you should have a good shot.
