Hey! I am a senior in High school and I just finished my application to the Air Force Academy. I am applying to the AFA because I want to serve my country by being an officer in the Air Force. I think the Academy's strenuous curriculum will help me be the best leader I can be. I recently received a full tuition Air Force ROTC scholarship to Penn State University, so I also have that as an option. I live in a small town and there is nobody else close who is applying to the Air Force Academy. I am hoping that this will help me connect with other people going through the same process that I am. I have read everything I can get my hands on about the Academy and the experience to prepare myself for the first year, although I don't think anything can fully relate what it will be like. I am planning on majoring in mechanical engineering and getting a minor in political science.

Welcome!!!!!! Sorry for the late reply. Where in PA are you from? I'm a PA native from Johnstown. My daughter and her family just moved from Texas to DuBois in the past year.

Lots of PA cadets here at NMMI.

The USAFA is a great school. Penn St. is a great school. Remember this though, the school you go to is only a way point or intermediate stop on the journey. The goal is to be a USAF officer. Keep focused in the goal, then either path will be "good" path.

Hey! Welcome! And no worries, I was from a small town too, where half of the people had never even heard of USMA, USNA, USAFA, etc. This place offers a lot of great info and you can definitely make friends on here! Hope to see you in Beast in about 4.5 months! (yikes, that's close....) :thumb:
