Hello, I am Derek, a junior in High School in Central Illinois. I have been introduced to the service academies through a senior school friend who's applied to AFA and USNA. He got me interested, so I've been looking up a lot about the academies in the past couple months. Truth is though, I have no clue about the military and do not know anything about how the academies work other than a little I've read and heard.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out by giving me some info about life in the academies and what kind of person attends.
I have always just figured I would go to a normal college, but something about the academies, especially USNA, really interest me and I just want to find out more. I only hope it is not too late for me to make up my mind.

Hello. From what I have heard, the service academies accept the best of the best and are very challenging and rewarding. I hope you can get into the USNA if that is what you want and feel God has called you to do.
