Quick question for anyone that has already submitted their high school transcripts. Is there a delay from when they are submitted to when it is reflected on the portal?

My guidance counselor says that she submitted them on Tuesday (Oct 27th). The portal reflects that she completed the request for academic information form on this day, however it still shows 0 transcripts recieved. Does anyone know if this is normal and it takes more than 3 days to update or does this mean that she submitted them incorrectly?

The request for academic information form that she submitted is electronically processed into the system automatically. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE TRANSCRIPTS. That form was completed on a personal webpage that is uniquely tied to your candidate ID.

All transcripts, whether sent electronically or in the mail, have to be manually entered into your record/matched to your candidate ID number. The regular mail process can take a few weeks when you include mail sorting time (even if you overnight it, there is a significant amount of mail and the sorting priority is not to routine business correspondence). Make sure your counselor includes your candidate ID number to speed things up so they can just digitize it and attach it to your record. Even electronic transcripts have to be matched to the correct candidate before being attached. Each one has to go through a manual name look up which adds to the processing time.

Why this detail - don't send your stuff last minute and hope it makes it in. Don't bug your RC or tech when something doesn't show up immediately. Plan ahead and give your paperwork at least two weeks before inquiring about it.

Thanks for the info, she said she submitted them electronically so I'll give it another week or so before I try and reach out to her again.

Also, tracking the last minute aspect. I was notified of my eligibility to apply a few weeks ago and since I've been out of highschool for almost four years now it's been a pain to track some of these people down. I'm more concerned with verifying it was done right so that I don't have to spend another week playing phone tag with people who no longer seem to care I exist.

Yes, this is normal. This happened to my son as well. His counselor said she submitted the info on a certain date, yet many days later there still was no sign of it on the portal. He even called someone at the USAFA to follow up. Be patient, it will show, it just doesn't show up as fast as we expect.
