First off, I'd like to apologize. I'm aware this isn't the right section, however I'm pushing time and looking for answer as early as possible. On part of my nomination packet, it talks about Higher Education Pursuits, and to list any higher education institutions or programs I plan to purse or are pursuing. Can someone clarify what this means? Thanks!

What are your goals? What are your desires to continue with working towards a masters or Ph.D. Degree? What are your life goals and where do you see yourself 5 -10 years from now? They are asking about you and your life.

OP, if your user name on this forum contains your last name, I suggest strongly that you request to change it.

If you are fortunate enough to receive an appointment to USMA or another service academy, the LAST thing you want is to have your detailers hounding you at Beast about your forum posts.

To request a change, send a private conversation message to @TacticalNuke who is the forum administrator.

    Hello AROTC-dad:

Can you expand on your statement, "the LAST thing you want is to have your detailers hounding you at Beast about your forum posts?" What is a detailer? Any other things that they might use against you during beast, like social media posts?

    Thanks,
    JDB

West Point uses the term "cadre" for the upperclassmen who lead Cadet Basic Training.

Dixieland is correct. Detailer is a USNA term. Anonymity is still preferable for candidates.

Cadre can definitely use social media posts to further "motivate" a plebe.

Clean up and make private accordingly.

"Clean up and make private accordingly." I'd say that's good advice for anybody, but especially good advice for a prospective service academy cadet. Hopefully, they haven't posted anything that would cause problems in the first place. That might be a tall order for most high school kids , but these young men and women aren't like most high school kids.
