Just received letter from DoDMERB that, at USMMA's request, son's medical exam was reviewed. Waiver is granted for 1) BIG condition as long as 2) orthodontist will confirm that braces are off (they are, so this one's a no-brainer).

My question is, what can son -- who was notified he's on the national "hold" list -- infer from USMMA's request for medical review/waiver?

Is the request for review something they'd make for every hold candidate? Or is it only for a certain few?

In addition to the fabulous news about his waiver being (or about to be) granted, are we also learning that USMMA is zeroing in?

Hate to burst your bubble here, but my understanding is that medical qualification is interdependent of any other factor, keep hoping though!

    congratulations to 2016's

CONGRATULATIONS to your DS Navy4ever :jump1: Welcome to the USMMA family! (now is the perfect time to get on the 2016 USMMA Parent facebook page. Your class group is called; Parents & Family of USMMA ~ Class 2016 ). Also, I do hope you are making arrangements to head out to KP for the Spring Open House for New Appointees. You will be getting info about it in the mail, but hotels fill up quickly. I believe the Spring Open House this year is on April 16th. It is a definite MUST, trust me. Congrats again!
(and best of luck to SnerdyBosco. fingers crossed for a happy ending for you as well.)

I hope that I have the same thing happen to me. I check the status page constantly. Even NMMI would be great.

man... waiting is so tuff but you cant give up. I am also a hold applicant and should get some good or bad news here soon. I've been waiting for about a month in a half and its killing me. Thats unfortunately all you can do though is wait, but just make sure you have some back-up plans. Not only does it give you more options, but applying to other colleges will eat up some of that time... i know it helped me a lot. good luck!!! look forward to meeting the family!!

When I went through the process, I had also made plans to attend another (non maritime) college; was accepted and prepared for the experience. Of course once I got the word from KP, I cancelled the other.
