My son received a letter from admissions at the USMMA stating that he is listed as a HOLD CANDIDATE. Can anyone tell me what his chances are to get an appointment. Thanks

My D.S. was admitted via the "Hold" route (and graduated) but As I recall he didn't get his appointment till virtually the KP reporting date. Best to make other plans... and plan what you will do if you get the appointment.
We were fortunate, in having registered with SUNY Maritime, they refunded all deposits/fees. Don't know if that would happen today.

Our son (2013) used SUNY as his "plan B" and once he received his appointment to KP (and made sure all of the legwork was completed) SUNY was great about refunding his deposit. Our youngest son (who, admittedly, has a long time to think about college) is already interested in SUNY. (He probably wouldn't pass DODMERB for KP since he has asthma.)
