You have learned a valuable lesson (OK, several):

• Don't lie about the past (or present). Just tell the truth. Things may or may not turn out "well" for you, but...
• always expect consequences from your actions, both good and bad
• Once one starts down that slippery slope of lying, even about small things, they do have a tendency to catch up
• Lots of adults have made similar (and worse) mistakes. Learn from others' foul-ups and try not to find yourself enmeshed in anything similar.

Don't abuse drugs or alcohol. No good can come from it.
