Hello everyone, I'm a sophomore in high school and my dream since the seventh grade has been attending the USMA. I'm involved in student council at my school, play multiple sports, and have very good grades, as well as a running track record of service in both my community, school, and church. I was wondering, how soon can I start applying? I've created a file and done as much as I can up to this point, to my knowledge. I would like to get "pre-appointed", but I don't know too much about it. All I know is from rumors I have heard. Can anyone help?

Thanks!!

Welcome!

Never too early to start. Hopefully you've visited: http://admissions.usma.edu/pros_cadets_sophs.html

Let you guidance counsellor know you want to go to WP. Apply for the Summer Leaders Seminar between your junior and senior year.

Your ACT/SAT scores are important. There is plenty of material available (for free) to study for these. I like: http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice/sat-question-of-the-day , and recommend it to my students.

Get involved in team sports, community service or Scouting, and keep your GPA up while taking the "tough" math and science courses. Thats a lot to ask, but it is very competitive out there. Good luck and work hard.

Thanks for the reply! I'm taking all the hard classes, but math has never been my strong point. Gotta work pretty hard in that one. Thanks again!
