I just spent almost a week at the Academy Hotel while DD attended summer seminar. It's not bad and the price is pretty good. The hotel does need some updating but the free breakfast is quite good with a cook to order omelette station. The gym is way overdue for new equipment. The other hotels mentioned (Residence Inn and Hampton Inn) are probably nicer. I don't know what they charge but they are in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive down to where the Academy Hotel is to do any shopping or to get to any restaurants. And every restaurant and retail store you can imagine is within a one minute drive from the Academy Hotel. The other hotels listed above are only 3 miles closer to the North Gate than the Academy Hotel. And the Academy Hotel has a full service restaurant with room service. They also give you a $10 coupon everyday to be used at their Pub/restaurant. If I have the reason to come back to the area (hopefully) there's a good chance I will stay here again.

Thank you for all the responses. The boys ended up staying at the Academy hotel for 3 nights and had a great Father's Day weekend. It was a great visit for our son. It was a great experience for him to go to the sports camp and spend a week at the academy. He was able to stay in the residence hall, meet and visit with some current cadets and get a small glimpse of what academy life would be like. Our son is motivated even more and ready to enter his junior year and begin this process. Great experience for our son!
