Hey I'm currently a freshman in college applying for West Point. I just wanted to know how you guys think my application looks compared to yourself and others you know who are applying/have gotten in.

Academics:
High School GPA: 4.06
Class Rank: 23/510
SAT: Math:660 Eng:610 Wri:590 Total: 1860
ACT: Taking in December. (Apparently I can take it as a college student haha)
College GPA: My first term ends in a week but I'm looking at around a 3.4, however I'm an engineering major with all science/math based classes.

EC's:
(Highschool)
VP of CSF (California Scholarship Federation)
Help positions in Key Club
Swim Team 4 years(3 Years on Varsity)(Captain Senior Year)
Football (3 Years)
Youth Council
Youth in Government
California Boys State
SLS (2010)
Active in my church and youth group.
(College)
Army ROTC
Young Americans for Liberty Club

Also I've had a job for two years.

As far as qualifications go I have passed the Medical and CFA however my CFA isn't as great as I wanted it to be.

How do you think I am? All I have left to do is submit my college grades, take the ACT and have my congressional nomination interview in January.

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how competitive they think I am. Thank you

Quick question: Did you apply to West Point the year before?

It seems to me that everything is fine, I won't say whether or not you'll have a good chance (because I don't know), but your GPA and class rank seem great. The SAT is so-so, hopefully the ACT score will outweigh it.

Aside from that, I'm not exactly sure if it's true, but I have heard a couple times that West Point admissions holds a degree of liking to college students because they are taking college-level classes and are more loyal(in the sense that they are aware they will be first-year students again and they are somewhat sacrificing time to be in the Army, which shows commitment).

No one can really tell you how competitive you are. It seems like you are on the right track, but no one can tell you definitively. Look at the class profile and see how you measure up. However I don't think the SAT/ACT are looked at to the same degree as if you are applying out of high school because those tests show potential for handling college material. Thus, your college transcript is going to be very important.
