My son completed his AROTC application 2 weeks ago. One of the school's contacted him immediately while his top pick says they haven't received anything. Help!

As long as his top pick is on his list it will be considered in the event he receives a scholarship regardless of what the ROO is seeing. I will say my daughter did not get any feedback from her number 1 school until after she received the scholarship. She had three other ROO's that helped her a lot, including a lot of what Clarksonarmy mentions in his Blog. Several looked over her essay, and commented on her quality of an applicant and guided her through the process. Consequently, she ended up choosing one of the other schools at the last minute and has not looked back! As long as it says Board Ready in his portal, it will be fine.

Some ROO do a better job than others. Thankfully we have a great one her. Have DS contact the school's ROO, let them know that his application is complete. Ask some questions about the unit. See if they have any influence over the school's admissions selection. Some do, some don't.

Thanks all! He had his interview with the ROO yesterday but he was new and did not know what to do with the interview results. We are worried that the paperwork will not get to where it needs to go. My son followed up with him today thanks to your help. Hopefully he will get it turned in. My son has another meeting next week with another school. They offered to do the interview also and seem on top of their game. Should he have them do one also???

He only gets one interview. I would recommend if the ROO is the one that is going to conduct the interview that you find another program who's PMS is going to conduct the interview. Unfortunately the interview has probably already been uploaded, the other program is not going to be able to supersede the one the ROO did. They call it a PMS interview for a reason. If the program is not sure how to upload the interview then that may be something to give you a second thought also. The interview counts for 200 points on your file's score. It's important.
