Although I do not know for sure, I'm almost positive that everyone who completes the questionnaire is considered an applicant. You should receive an email with your West Point ID number and password to be used to log onto the candidate portal. Sometime in August, the portal will be updated, allowing you to start filling out your application. At that time, you'll be considered a "cadet candidate."

Once you have access to the www site, look for the name and contact information for your Field Force member in your congressional district. They are eager to help and will outline problems in your file as well as what has yet to be completed. Admissions look look to the Field Force as a way to cover the may applications. They are also listened to in regards to their opinion of the applicant, so it serves you well to make sure you introduce yourself.
